History
The community was platted in 1907 concurrent with the extension of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (commonly known as the Milwaukee Road) through the region. The town was named after an early local settler, though the precise origin of the name “Dupree” varies among historical sources. A post office has operated in Dupree since 1907.
