Dragan Kesich

Early Life and Background

Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Kesich developed his athletic skills primarily through soccer, playing the sport for nearly a decade. He moved to the United States during his high school years, where he was introduced to American football. He quickly adapted his powerful leg and kicking abilities to the new sport, attending Northville High School in Northville, Michigan, for part of his high school career. Kesich rapidly established himself as a highly-rated high school kicking prospect, drawing attention for his strong leg and potential.

College Career

Kesich committed to the University of Michigan as a preferred walk-on, joining one of the nation's premier college football programs.

Early Years (2020-2022)

During his initial seasons with the Wolverines, Kesich primarily served as a backup kicker behind Lou Groza Award winner and future NFL player Jake Moody. He gained experience and contributed to kickoff duties, showcasing his powerful leg with frequent touchbacks. He made his collegiate debut in 2020.

Breakout Season (2023)

Following the departure of Jake Moody to the NFL, Kesich took over as Michigan's starting placekicker for the 2023 season. He had a career-defining year, playing a crucial role in Michigan's undefeated regular season, Big Ten Championship, and ultimate College Football Playoff National Championship victory.
