Douglas Chapman (politician)

Douglas Chapman (born 5 January 1955) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dunfermline and West Fife since May 2015.

Early Life and Career:

Chapman was born in Rosyth, Fife. Before entering politics, he worked in various roles, including in the banking and finance sector.

Political Career:

Chapman was elected as an MP in 2015, defeating the incumbent Labour MP, Thomas Docherty. He retained his seat in the 2017 and 2019 general elections.

During his time in Parliament, Chapman has served on several committees, including the International Trade Committee and the Public Accounts Committee. He has been a vocal advocate for issues affecting his constituency, such as the defence sector and local infrastructure. He has also spoken on matters related to the Scottish economy and independence.
