Donald Keith (author)

Donald Keith Ginter (1928 – 1989) was an American author primarily known for his science fiction works. He wrote under his birth name, Donald Keith, and also famously collaborated under the pseudonym David Grinnell.

Born in 1928, Ginter contributed to the science fiction genre during the mid-20th century. His most notable works as "Donald Keith" include the "Time Machine" series of novels, beginning with Mutiny in the Time Machine (1962), which often involved young protagonists exploring historical eras through time travel. These books were generally aimed at a younger audience.

Under the pseudonym David Grinnell, he co-authored the "Keith and the Cat" series with Donald A. Wollheim. This series featured a cat named Keith who could communicate telepathically with humans and often embarked on adventures. Titles in this series include The Edge of Time (1958) and Across Time (1960).

Donald Keith Ginter passed away in 1989. His contributions remain a part of the history of juvenile science fiction and collaborative writing in the genre.
