Dominic Fobih

Dominic Fobih (born 2 June 1952) is a Ghanaian academic and politician. He served as the Member of Parliament for the Agona West constituency in the Central Region of Ghana from 2001 to 2017, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP). During the presidency of John A. Kufuor, Fobih held the position of Deputy Minister for Education, where he was involved in policy formulation and implementation for Ghana’s basic and secondary education systems.

Fobih holds a doctoral degree in Education and has been a senior lecturer and professor at the University of Cape Coast, specializing in educational administration and policy. His academic work includes research on curriculum development, teacher training, and educational management in Ghana and other West African contexts.

After concluding his parliamentary service in 2017, Fobih returned to full‑time academic duties, contributing to scholarly publications and serving on various national education committees and advisory boards. He is recognized for his contributions to both the legislative process and the advancement of Ghana’s education sector.
