Diego Maurício

Diego Maurício Machado de Lima (born 15 August 1991), commonly known as Diego Maurício, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a striker.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Diego Maurício began his professional career with Flamengo, making his senior debut in 2010. He quickly gained attention for his powerful physique and aerial ability. After his stint with Flamengo, he moved to Russia to play for Alania Vladikavkaz.

His career has since seen him play for numerous clubs across various continents, showcasing his adaptability and journeyman status. He had spells in Brazil with clubs like Bragantino and Vitória, before moving to Asia. In China, he played for Shijiazhuang Ever Bright. He also spent time in Thailand with Ratchaburi Mitr Phol and in South Korea, featuring for Busan IPark, Gwangju FC, and Gangwon FC.

Later in his career, Diego Maurício returned to Brazil for short stints with Coritiba and Atlético Goianiense, and also played in China again for Shandong Taishan. He then moved to India, where he has had a significant impact in the Indian Super League (ISL). He joined Chennaiyin FC in 2021, and subsequently played for Mumbai City FC, where he won the ISL League Winners' Shield. In 2023, he joined Odisha FC, continuing to be a prominent goal scorer in the league.

Known for his strength, ability to hold up play, and powerful shots, Diego Maurício has consistently been a goal threat for the teams he has represented.
