Richard Young (13 July 1939 – 1988/1989) was an English professional footballer who played as a forward.

Young began his career with Usworth Juniors before joining Newcastle United in 1957. After four years at Newcastle, he moved on to South Shields, then spent three seasons with Grimsby Town (1962–1965). He later played for Stockport County, Ellesmere Port Town, and Macclesfield Town. His career included both Football League and non-league football.
