Dick Scott (born Richard Lee Scott on April 22, 1942, in Sacramento, California) was a professional baseball player who played shortstop in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1971.
Scott played for the California Angels (1963-1966), Washington Senators (1967-1969), and Milwaukee Brewers (1970-1971). Primarily a defensive shortstop, Scott was known for his fielding ability. He was not a particularly strong hitter, with a career batting average of .219.
During his time with the Angels, he was part of a talented young infield that included Jim Fregosi. His most productive offensive season was in 1968 with the Senators, where he hit .234 with 2 home runs and 22 RBIs. He played his final MLB game on September 29, 1971. After his playing career, Scott was involved in coaching and scouting.
