Dick Maloney (born c. 1932, died October 24, 2017) was an American football player and coach. He played college football as a guard at Virginia Tech, where he was a member of the 1954 Sugar Bowl team. He served as the head football coach at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) from 1971 to 1973, compiling a record of 3–29. Prior to his time at VMI, he served as an assistant coach at various schools, including Clemson and Tulane. After leaving VMI, he worked in private business.
