Plot The story begins with a stranger, Chandrashekhar (Sanjay Khan), driving through a dense fog when his car breaks down on a desolate road. Seeking help, he stumbles upon a secluded mansion and enters to find a woman, Rani Ranjit Singh (Zeenat Aman), standing over the dead body of her husband, Barrister Ranjit Singh, holding a smoking gun. Rani confesses to the murder, claiming her husband was cruel and abusive. Chandrashekhar, instead of reporting her, decides to help her cover up the crime, driven by a mysterious past connection or sympathy. As they attempt to dispose of the body and create an alibi, a series of unexpected events unfold, revealing hidden motives, past secrets, and other members of the household, including Ranjit Singh's disabled younger brother, Gopal (Danny Denzongpa), and a servant. The investigation into Ranjit Singh's death exposes a complex web of relationships and deception, leading to a surprising revelation about the true killer and the circumstances surrounding the murder.
