Desiderio Esparza

Desiderio Esparza Flores (born December 17, 1934 – died October 27, 2004) was a Mexican luchador (professional wrestler) best known under the ring name Desesperado (Spanish for "Desperate" or "Hopeless"). He was a prominent rudo (heel or villain) during the golden age of lucha libre, particularly active in the northern regions of Mexico and parts of the United States.

Biography and Career Born in Mexico, Desiderio Esparza began his professional wrestling career in the late 1950s or early 1960s. He quickly adopted the menacing persona of Desesperado, becoming known for his aggressive style, rule-breaking tactics, and intense rivalries. As a rudo, he excelled at drawing heat from the crowd, making him a popular antagonist for many of the era's beloved técnicos (babyfaces).
