Derivative (Turkish: Türev) is a 2005 Turkish drama film written, produced, and directed by Ulaş İnaç. The screenplay adapts a short story by Miguel de Cervantes. Plot
Nazım (Güçlü Yalçıner) is a successful young writer living in Istanbul and engaged to Süreyya (Gülçin Santırcıoğlu). Uncertain about Nazım’s fidelity, Süreyya asks her close friend Burcu (Beste Bereket) to tempt him as a test of his loyalty. Reluctantly agreeing, Burcu proceeds with the plan but eventually falls in love with Nazım herself. The narrative unfolds through evening confessional recordings made by each character for an imagined film project, exposing their inner thoughts and emotional entanglements.

Derivative premiered nationwide across Turkey on 18 November 2005. Its theatrical run lasted approximately 90 minutes.
