Deon Butler

Deon Butler (born March 27, 1986) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL). Born in Bronx, New York, Butler attended the University of Connecticut, where he played college football for the Connecticut Huskies. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round (201st overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

During his rookie season with Seattle, Butler appeared in 13 games, recording 16 receptions for 194 yards. He also contributed on special teams, returning punts and kickoffs. Butler was released by the Seahawks in August 2010 and subsequently signed short‑term contracts with the New York Jets and the New York Giants, though he did not appear in regular‑season games for those teams. He also had a brief stint with the Indianapolis Colts during the 2011 preseason.

Following his NFL career, Butler played for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2012, recording 10 receptions for 135 yards. He later pursued opportunities in indoor football leagues, including the Indoor Football League (IFL) with the Amarillo Venom.

After retiring from professional football, Butler has been involved in coaching and youth development programs, focusing on mentoring young athletes in his hometown and the broader New York metropolitan area. He holds a degree in communications from the University of Connecticut.
