Career
Born in [[Manchester]], Breakwell began his professional career with his hometown club [[Manchester City]], signing terms in 1965. While he primarily served as a reserve goalkeeper behind figures such as [[Joe Corrigan]], he was part of the squad during a significant period for the club. He was notably a member of the Manchester City team that won the [[League Cup]] in the 1975–76 season, although he did not feature in the final match.In 1976, Breakwell moved to [[Crystal Palace F.C.|Crystal Palace]], where he spent two seasons and became a more regular first-team player. His career subsequently took him to a number of other clubs, including [[Leyton Orient]], [[Peterborough United]], [[Brentford F.C.|Brentford]], and [[Rotherham United]]. Later in his career, he played for teams such as [[Chester City]], [[Stockport County]], [[Carlisle United]], and [[Reading F.C.|Reading]] before concluding his professional playing career and moving into non-league football.
