Decaturia is a monotypic snout moth genus in the family Pyralidae. Its only species is Decaturia pectinalis.
Taxonomy and Naming
The genus and its sole species were described in 1912 by the American entomologists William Barnes (of Decatur, Illinois) and James Halliday McDunnough. The genus name is derived from the city of Decatur, Illinois, the home of one of the describers.
Description
The wingspan of Decaturia pectinalis is approximately 13 mm.
Distribution
The species is found in the southwestern United States, ranging from California to southern Arizona.
