Dean Fasano (January 16, 1955 – November 8, 2018) was an American rock vocalist, songwriter, and musician, primarily known for his powerful voice and contributions to the [[melodic rock]] and [[AOR]] (Album-Oriented Rock) genres. Throughout his career, he lent his talents to several notable bands and projects, leaving a significant mark on the melodic rock scene.
Career
Fasano began his musical journey in the 1970s. One of his early significant projects was the band Message, which released their self-titled debut album in 1981. The album gained a cult following among AOR enthusiasts for its strong melodies and Fasano's expressive vocals.In the mid-1980s, Fasano became the lead vocalist for the band Prophet, replacing former singer Russell Arcara. With Prophet, he recorded the critically acclaimed album ''Cycle of the Moon'' (1988), which further cemented his reputation as a formidable rock singer. The album is often cited as a classic within the melodic hard rock genre.
Following his tenure with Prophet, Fasano continued to be an active force in music. He collaborated with drummer [[Aynsley Dunbar]] (known for his work with [[Journey]], [[Whitesnake]], and others) in the project Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation, releasing the album ''Retaliation'' in 1994.
In the 2000s, Fasano was involved with the prominent melodic rock band [[House of Lords]]. He contributed vocals to their 2004 album ''The Power and the Myth'', which featured re-recordings of earlier House of Lords material, and also appeared on the Anthology compilation.
Beyond these well-known projects, Fasano was involved in numerous other collaborations and sessions, consistently demonstrating his vocal prowess and dedication to melodic rock music.
Death
