Dawid Jackiewicz

Dawid Jackiewicz (born March 17, 1975, in Wrocław, Poland) is a Polish politician. A member of the Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, PiS) party, he has served as a Member of the Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament), a Member of the European Parliament, and as a minister in the Polish government.

Early Life and Education Jackiewicz graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Wrocław.

Political Career

  • Local Government: Jackiewicz began his political career in local government, serving as a councilor in the Wrocław City Council.
  • Member of the Sejm: He was first elected to the Sejm in 2005, representing the Wrocław constituency. He was re-elected in 2007 and 2011, serving until 2014. During his tenure in the Sejm, he was active in various parliamentary committees.
  • Member of the European Parliament: In the 2014 European Parliament election, Jackiewicz was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Poland. He served in this capacity until November 2015.
  • Minister of State Treasury: Following the victory of the Law and Justice party in the 2015 Polish parliamentary election, Dawid Jackiewicz was appointed Minister of State Treasury in the government of Prime Minister Beata Szydło. He held this position from November 16, 2015, until May 3, 2016. His tenure was marked by efforts to restructure state-owned companies and review their management.

After leaving the ministerial post, Jackiewicz has largely withdrawn from front-line politics, though he remains associated with the Law and Justice party.
