David Valadao (born April 3, 1977) is an American farmer and politician who has served as the U.S. Representative from California since 2021, representing California's 22nd congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, Valadao previously held the same seat from 2013 to 2019, representing the state's 21st district (renumbered after the 2010 Census).
Early life and education
Valadao was born in Visalia, California, to a family of Portuguese descent. He grew up on a family farm in the Central Valley and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business from California State University, Fresno.
Professional career
Before entering politics, Valadao worked as a farmer and consultant in agricultural production. He served on the Tulare County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2012, where he focused on issues such as water management, transportation infrastructure, and public safety.
