David Suchet

David Suchet (born 2 May 1942) is an English actor and director, best known for his portrayal of the fictional Belgian detective Hercule Poirot in the long-running television series Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989–2013). His career spans stage, film, television, and radio, and he has received numerous awards for his performances.

Early Life and Education
David Suchet was born in Manchester, England, to Jewish parents, Joseph Suchet, a tailor, and Mabel (née Jacobson), a homemaker. He attended the Manchester Grammar School and later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 1963.

Stage Career
Suchet began his professional acting career in the 1960s, performing with repertory companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre. Notable stage roles include:
