David Nemeth (born August 18, 1999) is an Austrian professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Early Life and Amateur Career Nemeth was born in Vienna, Austria. He later moved to the United States and attended Island Coast High School in Cape Coral, Florida, where he played high school baseball. His performance as a right-handed pitcher drew significant attention from professional scouts.
Professional Career Nemeth was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the second round, 46th overall, of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. He began his professional career within the Marlins' minor league system. On July 31, 2021, Nemeth was traded to the Cincinnati Reds, along with pitcher Bryan Hoeing, in exchange for outfielder Starling Marte.
After the trade, Nemeth continued his development through the Reds' minor league affiliates, pitching for teams such as the Dayton Dragons (High-A), Chattanooga Lookouts (Double-A), and Louisville Bats (Triple-A). Known for his fastball and developing secondary pitches, Nemeth consistently progressed through the Reds' system. He made his Major League Baseball debut for the Cincinnati Reds on April 13, 2024.
