Darwín Ramírez (born October 9, 1998) is a [[Dominican Republic|Dominican]] professional [[baseball]] [[pitcher]]. He has played in the minor league systems of the [[Boston Red Sox]] and the [[Miami Marlins]].

Early life and career

Ramírez was born in [[San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic|San Cristóbal]], Dominican Republic. He signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent on July 2, 2016.

Professional career

Ramírez began his professional career in 2017 with the [[Dominican Summer League Red Sox]] (DSL), appearing in 11 games (5 starts) with a 3.52 ERA. He continued to progress through the Red Sox minor league system over the next several seasons.

In 2018, he played for the DSL Red Sox and the [[Gulf Coast League Red Sox]] (GCL), posting a combined 3–3 record with a 3.12 ERA in 12 appearances (10 starts). He spent the 2019 season with the [[Lowell Spinners]], the Red Sox's then-Class A Short Season affiliate, where he had a 2–2 record with a 2.40 ERA over 12 games (8 starts).

After the [[2020 Minor League Baseball season|cancellation of the 2020 minor league season]] due to the [[COVID-19 pandemic]], Ramírez played for the [[Salem Red Sox]] (Class A) in 2021, recording a 2–3 record and a 4.14 ERA across 19 games (12 starts). In 2022, he advanced to the [[Greenville Drive]] (High-A) and the [[Portland Sea Dogs]] (Double-A), finishing the season with a combined 2–3 record and a 4.25 ERA over 32 relief appearances. He became a minor league free agent after the 2022 season.

Miami Marlins organization

In 2023, Ramírez signed a minor league contract with the [[Miami Marlins]]. He pitched for the [[Jupiter Hammerheads]] (Class A) and the [[Pensacola Blue Wahoos]] (Double-A), posting a combined 0–1 record with a 5.68 ERA in 13 relief appearances before being released later in the season.
