Daniel Tinayre

Daniel Tinayre (14 September 1910 – 4 October 1994) was a prominent Argentine film director and screenwriter. Active primarily during the Golden Age of Argentine cinema from the 1940s to the 1960s, Tinayre was known for his versatility, directing films across a wide range of genres, including melodrama, crime thrillers, historical dramas, and comedies. His works often featured strong narrative structures, psychological depth, and a keen exploration of social issues.

Born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, Tinayre began his directorial career in the late 1930s. In his personal life, Daniel Tinayre was married to the acclaimed Argentine actress and television host Mirtha Legrand. Their marriage was one of the most prominent unions in Argentine show business. They had two children: Marcela Tinayre, who became a television personality, and Daniel Andrés Tinayre.
