Daisy Lopes Lúcidi Mendes (10 August 1929 – 7 May 2020) was a Brazilian actress, radio broadcaster, and politician. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she began her artistic career as a child performer in poetry recitals and later entered the emerging medium of radio, joining the inaugural cast of Rádio Globo. Lúcidi became a prominent radio personality, hosting the long‑running program Alô Daisy on Rádio Nacional for more than four decades, where she combined gossip, culinary tips, and social commentary.
Transitioning to television in the 1960s, Lúcidi appeared in several telenovelas produced by Rede Globo, including Supermanoela (1974) and later returned to the small screen in the 2000s with roles in Paraíso Tropical (2007) and Passione (2010). Her film work encompassed a few feature films and supporting roles in Brazilian cinema.
In addition to her media career, Lúcidi entered politics. She served as a councilwoman in the Municipal Chamber of Rio de Janeiro and subsequently as a state deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro, representing the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB). Her political focus included cultural and social issues, reflecting her background in the arts and broadcasting.
Lúcidi died at the age of 90 in Rio de Janeiro after complications from COVID‑19. Her legacy is noted for pioneering contributions to Brazilian radio, her longevity in television, and her brief but influential political service.
