DaQuan Jones (born January 22, 1995) is an American professional football player who plays as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round (213th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft after playing college football at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
Early life and education
Jones was born in Dallas, Texas. He attended Justin F. Kimball High School, where he played high school football and earned all-district honors. He enrolled at UTSA in 2013 and redshirted his freshman year. Over the next three seasons, he appeared in 33 games, recording 85 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks.
Professional career
Buffalo Bills (2017–2020)
After being selected by the Bills in 2017, Jones signed a four-year rookie contract. He made his NFL debut in the 2017 season, contributing primarily on special teams and as a rotational defensive lineman. Over four seasons with Buffalo, he appeared in 51 games, starting 23, and accumulated 94 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles.
San Francisco 49ers (2021)
Jones signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers in March 2021. He appeared in 15 games, recording 23 tackles and one sack.
New York Jets (2022–present)
In March 2022, Jones signed a two-year deal with the New York Jets. He has been utilized as part of the Jets’ defensive line rotation, contributing tackles and pass‑rush production.
Personal life
Jones is known for his community involvement, including youth football camps in his hometown of Dallas. He holds a degree in criminal justice from UTSA.
