DC Universe was an American video-on-demand streaming service operated by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Digital Networks. Launched on September 15, 2018, it offered a variety of DC Comics-related content, including original television series, animated series, comics, and a curated selection of films.
The service aimed to provide a centralized hub for DC fans to access a diverse range of content. Original programming included shows such as Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Harley Quinn, and Stargirl. Many of these original series were later moved to, or became available on, HBO Max.
In September 2020, it was announced that DC Universe would be rebranded as DC Universe Infinite, a digital comic book subscription service, focusing primarily on comics and community features. The rebranding officially took effect on January 21, 2021. With the transition, the video content moved primarily to HBO Max, becoming a more central location for DC-related film and television.
The original DC Universe service was ultimately discontinued, with DC Universe Infinite serving as a distinct platform catering specifically to comic book enthusiasts.
