Cushing, Nebraska is an unincorporated community located in Howard County, Nebraska, United States.
Cushing was named in honor of Judge John W. Cushing, a prominent judge of the Fifth Judicial District in Nebraska. The community historically served as a local hub for the surrounding agricultural region. A post office was established in Cushing on June 29, 1888, and it operated for nearly a century before being discontinued on October 2, 1981.
Geographically, Cushing is situated in central Nebraska, lying along Nebraska Highway 92. The area is characterized by the flat to gently rolling terrain typical of the agricultural landscape found within the Platte River valley region.
