Craig Forsyth

Early Life and Career

Born in [[Glasgow]], Scotland, Forsyth began his youth career at [[Dundee F.C.]]. He progressed through their academy, making his senior debut for the club in 2008. During his initial spell at Dundee, he also gained valuable first-team experience through loan spells at lower-league Scottish clubs [[Montrose F.C.]] (2009) and [[Arbroath F.C.]] (2010), before becoming a regular starter for Dundee.

Club Career

Watford

In June 2011, Forsyth moved to England, signing for [[Watford F.C.]] on a three-year contract. He quickly established himself in the Hornets' squad, making 34 appearances in the [[2011–12 Football League Championship]] season. The following season, he had a brief loan spell at [[Bradford City A.F.C.]] in [[League Two]], where he helped them reach the [[2013 Football League Cup Final]] (though he was cup-tied for the final itself) and secure promotion via the play-offs. He then returned to Watford.

Derby County

Forsyth initially joined [[Derby County F.C.]] on an emergency loan deal in March 2013, making a significant impact during the latter part of the [[2012–13 Football League Championship]] season. His impressive performances led to a permanent transfer to the club in July 2013.

Since then, Forsyth has become one of Derby County's longest-serving and most dedicated players. He has been a consistent presence in the Rams' defence across multiple seasons, experiencing both the highs of promotion pushes to the [[Premier League]] and more challenging periods, including relegation to [[League One]]. Despite suffering several serious knee injuries throughout his tenure at the club, Forsyth has consistently shown resilience and dedication, returning to maintain his place in the squad. By the end of the [[2023–24 EFL League One]] season, he had amassed over 350 appearances for Derby County in all competitions, solidifying his status as a club legend for his longevity, commitment, and adaptability in various defensive roles.

International Career

Forsyth has represented [[Scotland national under-19 football team|Scotland]] at under-19 and [[Scotland national under-21 football team|under-21]] levels. He has not received a senior cap for the [[Scotland national football team]].
