Cotys IV (Ancient Greek: Κότυς Δ΄) was a Thracian king who ruled the Odrysian kingdom from approximately 171 BC to 167 BC. He was the son of Seuthes V. His reign occurred during a period of decline and fragmentation within the Odrysian kingdom, influenced by increasing Roman power and interference in the region. Sources regarding his reign are scarce, and much of what is known is derived from numismatic evidence and limited historical references. It is believed his rule was primarily localized and not representative of a unified, powerful Thracian state. The Odrysian kingdom during his time faced internal strife and external pressures from neighboring tribes and the encroaching Roman Republic.
