Constantin Moldoveanu (25 October 1943 – 10 September 2013) was a Romanian professional football forward, manager, and referee.
Early Life and Club Career
Born in Ploiești, Romania, Moldoveanu began playing football in 1958 at the junior squads of CSMS Iași. He made his Divizia A debut on 19 August 1962 for Petrolul Ploiești. Over his career, he played for several clubs including Petrolul Ploiești, Steaua București, Politehnica Iași, Sportul Studențesc București, and Prahova Ploiești. He scored two goals in the 1963 Cupa României final, helping Petrolul Ploiești win the club's first Romanian Cup. He also helped Petrolul win the 1965–66 Divizia A title, appearing in 24 matches and scoring six goals. Moldoveanu played three games in the 1966–67 European Cup against Liverpool, scoring in a 3–1 victory. In the 1970–71 Divizia A season, he scored 15 goals for Politehnica Iași, becoming the league's top scorer alongside Florea Dumitrache and Gheorghe Tătaru. He totaled 222 appearances and 59 goals in Divizia A.
International Career
Moldoveanu earned one cap for the Romania national team, playing in a friendly match against Uruguay on 4 January 1967 in Montevideo, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
Managerial and Later Career
After his playing career, Moldoveanu worked as a coach primarily in the Romanian lower leagues, with spells in Divizia A at Gloria Buzău and Petrolul Ploiești. He also coached junior teams and worked as a football referee.
Death
Constantin Moldoveanu died on 10 September 2013 at the Ploiești County Hospital, at the age of 69.
