Conrad Lawrence Goode (born January 9, 1962) is an American actor, screenwriter, film producer, musician, artist, and former professional football player. He played as an offensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) and later transitioned into a career in entertainment.
Early Life and Education
Goode was born in Columbia, Missouri, and attended Parkway Central High School. He is the stepson of Irv Goode and the son of former Mizzou All-American Conrad Hitchler. He played college football at the University of Missouri for the Missouri Tigers, earning first-team All-American honors in 1983 (selected by United Press International) and first-team All-Big Eight honors that same year.
Football Career
Goode was selected in the fourth round (87th overall) of the 1984 NFL draft by the New York Giants. He played two seasons with the Giants (1984–1985) and one season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1987). Over his NFL career, he appeared in 45 games and started in four of them.
Acting and Entertainment Career
Goode made his acting debut in 1986 with a Miller Lite commercial alongside Joe Piscopo. In 1987, he moved into television with an appearance on Saturday Night Live and The Adventures of Superboy. He moved to Los Angeles in 1990 and has since appeared in more than thirty films, including Con Air (1997), Me, Myself & Irene (2000), Don't Say a Word (2001), Anger Management (2003), The Longest Yard (2005), and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015). He has also appeared in 40 national commercials and a dozen television shows, including a recurring role on One Tree Hill (2006). In 2014, he wrote, produced, and starred in the feature film Watercolor Postcards.
Goode is also a published poet and composer.
