Clément Saunier (born 1979) is a French classical trumpet soloist, chamber musician, and educator. He is recognized for his contributions to the performance of both contemporary and classical repertoire for the trumpet.
In 2013, Saunier was appointed as a member of the Ensemble intercontemporain, a Paris-based ensemble founded by Pierre Boulez that focuses on the performance of contemporary music. He is also the founder and artistic director of the Paris Brass Band, which has won multiple national titles and represented France in international brass band competitions.
Saunier received his formal training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), studying under Clément Garrec. During his early career, he received prizes at several high-profile international competitions, including the Maurice André International Competition, the Prague Spring International Music Competition, and the International Competition of Porcia.
In addition to his performance career, Saunier is active in music education. He has held teaching positions at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris and currently serves as a professor of trumpet at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMDL). His professional work includes a variety of recordings as a soloist and as part of orchestral and chamber ensembles, often focusing on the expansion of trumpet literature through commissions of new works.
