Ciriaco Mescia

Ciriaco Mescia (born December 13, 1957) is a former Italian professional footballer who played as a defender. He is best known for his career in various clubs across the Italian lower leagues, including Lecce, Reggina, and Barletta.

Biography

Born in Ceglie Messapica, Italy, Mescia began his football journey in his native country. His career spanned over a decade, during which he became a respected figure in the Serie B and Serie C divisions of Italian football.

Playing Career

Mescia started his professional career with his home region club U.S. Lecce, making his debut in the late 1970s. After a few seasons with Lecce in Serie B, he moved to Reggina, where he spent several years establishing himself as a reliable defender in Serie C1.

He then had a notable stint with Barletta, playing a key role during their promotions and subsequent seasons in Serie C1 and Serie B. Mescia later played for other clubs such as Potenza and Monopoli before concluding his professional playing career.

Throughout his career, Mescia was known for his defensive solidity and consistency.
