Cindy Lamoureux (born 1991) is a Canadian politician who has served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba since 2016, representing the electoral district of Burrows as a member of the Manitoba Liberal Party. She is the daughter of Kevin Lamoureux, a long‑serving federal Liberal Member of Parliament.
Early life and education
Lamoureux was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended the University of Manitoba, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
Political career
Election to the Legislative Assembly
In the 2016 Manitoba general election, Lamoureux was elected to the Legislative Assembly at the age of 24, becoming the youngest MLA in the province's history at that time. She was re‑elected in the 2019 and 2023 provincial elections.
Roles within the Manitoba Liberal Party
Following her election, Lamoureux was appointed as the party’s deputy leader. She has served on several legislative committees, including the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and the Standing Committee on Family Services and Housing. Lamoureux is recognized for her advocacy on issues such as affordable housing, mental health services, and youth engagement in politics.
Legislative initiatives
