Chris Molendorp (born July 5, 1969) is an American politician and public official from Missouri. He is a Republican who served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015 and currently serves as the Cass County Collector of Revenue.
Early Life and Education
Molendorp was born on July 5, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a Cass County native and a graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School. He attended Texas Christian University and later the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
Political Career
Missouri House of Representatives (2009–2015)
Molendorp served in the Missouri House of Representatives for three terms:
- 123rd District (January 7, 2009 – January 9, 2013): Succeeded Brian Baker and was succeeded by Diane Franklin.
- 56th District (January 9, 2013 – January 7, 2015): Succeeded Mike Cierpiot and was succeeded by Jack Bondon.
He did not seek re-election in 2014.
Cass County Collector of Revenue (2019–present)
In November 2018, Molendorp was elected Cass County Collector of Revenue, a position he assumed in 2019. In this role, he directs accounting and property tax collections for Cass County, one of Missouri's largest counties. He oversees the collection and disbursement of hundreds of millions of dollars annually (approximately $216 million in a recent year). His office serves as the central property tax billing office for Cass County's local political subdivisions.
