Chris Durno is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. He was born on July 22, 1980, in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Durno played primarily as a right winger and was known for his physical style of play.
Early Life and Amateur Career
Durno developed his hockey skills in the British Columbia Minor Hockey Association and later played junior hockey in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Trail Smoke Eaters. He subsequently attended the University of North Dakota, where he played for the North Dakota Fighting Hawks men’s ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I.
Professional Career
Undrafted by the National Hockey League (NHL), Durno signed his first professional contract as a free agent. He began his professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Columbus Cobra Celtics and later the Hartford Wolf Pack. His performance in the AHL earned him call‑ups to the NHL.
