Chris D'Alvise

Christopher "Chris" D'Alvise (born April 10, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. Known for his speed and offensive capabilities, D'Alvise played in various professional leagues across North America, including the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL, before embarking on a successful career in several top European leagues.

Early Life and Amateur Career

D'Alvise was born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He played junior hockey for the Georgetown Raiders in the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League (OPJHL) from 2003 to 2005, where he demonstrated significant scoring prowess. His performance earned him a scholarship to Cornell University, where he played four seasons of NCAA Division I hockey for the Cornell Big Red in the ECAC Hockey conference from 2005 to 2009. During his collegiate career, he developed into a reliable two-way forward and served as an alternate captain in his senior year.

Professional Career

Upon completing his collegiate career, D'Alvise signed with the Manitoba Moose, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, for the 2009-10 season. He spent the majority of his North American professional career in the AHL, playing for teams such as the Providence Bruins, San Antonio Rampage, and Worcester Sharks. He also had stints in the ECHL with the Victoria Salmon Kings.

In 2012, D'Alvise opted to move his career to Europe. He signed with the Augsburger Panther of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in Germany, playing one season there. He then moved to the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL), where he played for EC VSV (2013-2014) and the Vienna Capitals (2014-2015), establishing himself as a consistent offensive contributor.

D'Alvise continued his European journey in Norway's GET-ligaen, joining Frisk Asker for two seasons (2015-2017), where he was a key player. He concluded his professional playing career in France's Ligue Magnus, playing for the Boxers de Bordeaux during the 2017-2018 season before retiring from professional hockey.

Playing Style

D'Alvise was primarily a left-shot forward, capable of playing both center and wing. He was recognized for his strong skating, offensive instincts, and ability to create scoring chances, particularly with his shot and playmaking in the attacking zone.
