Chor Sagoni is a village in the Huzur tehsil of the Bhopal district in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is located within the Phanda (Bhopal) community development block, approximately 20 km from the city of Bhopal, which serves as both the district and tehsil headquarters. The village falls under the Kolua Khurd gram panchayat.
Geography
Chor Sagoni is situated at coordinates 23°14′11″N 77°32′13″E, at an elevation of 457 m (1,499 ft) above sea level. It covers a total geographical area of approximately 137.49 hectares (1.37 km²). The nearest railway station is Habibganj, and the nearest airport is Raja Bhoj International Airport, located about 17.4 km away.
Demographics
According to the 2011 Census of India, Chor Sagoni has 38 households with a total population of 201 residents — 100 males and 101 females, yielding a sex ratio of 1,010 females per 1,000 males. The population includes 38 children aged 0–6 years. The village has 28 residents belonging to Scheduled Castes and 25 belonging to Scheduled Tribes.
The overall literacy rate is 59.20% (119 literates out of 201), with male literacy at 67.00% and female literacy at 51.49%. The effective literacy rate (excluding children aged 6 and below) is 73.01%.
Economy and Agriculture
The village economy is primarily agrarian. Main agricultural commodities include wheat, soybean, and chana (chickpea). The net sown area is 62.86 hectares, of which 48.57 hectares (77.3%) is irrigated, primarily through boreholes and tube wells. As of the 2011 census, 57 residents were classified as workers, with 35 working as agricultural labourers and 16 as cultivators.
