Chitlin' Fooks was an alternative country musical duo active during the early 2000s. The group was a collaborative project between Carol van Dyk, the lead singer of the Dutch indie rock band Bettie Serveert, and Pascal Deweze, a Belgian musician associated with various projects including Metal Molly and Sukilove.
The duo's musical style was characterized by a lo-fi approach to Americana, folk, and country music, often featuring acoustic arrangements and vocal harmonies. The collaboration served as a stylistic departure from the indie-rock focus of the members' primary musical endeavors.
Chitlin' Fooks released two studio albums under the independent label Hidden Agenda:
- Chitlin' Fooks (2001): Their debut album, which established their minimalist, country-influenced sound.
- Did It Again (2002): Their second and final full-length release, which continued their exploration of folk and alt-country themes.
The project was largely temporary, with both members returning to their respective primary bands and other musical ventures following the early 2000s. The duo performed live in support of their releases but did not maintain a long-term recording schedule.
