Overview
Chikkodi Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 28 parliamentary constituencies in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated in the north‑western part of the state, covering portions of Belagavi (formerly Belgaum) district. The constituency is designated as a general (unreserved) seat.
History
- The constituency was created for the first general elections of independent India in 1951‑52, originally as part of the then‑Bombay State.
- Following the States Reorganisation Act of 1956, the area became part of Mysore State, which was later renamed Karnataka.
