Charlotte d'Amboise (born August 20 1972) is an American dancer, actress, and singer best known for her performances in Broadway musical theatre. She is the daughter of famed ballet dancer and choreographer Jacques d'Amboise and dancer and teacher Carolyn George, and the sister of former New York City Ballet principal dancer Christopher d'Amboise.
Early life and training
Born in New York City, d'Amboise began training in ballet at an early age under the guidance of her father. She studied at the School of American Ballet and later at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, focusing on classical technique before transitioning to musical theatre.
Broadway career
D'Amboise made her Broadway debut in the 1994 revival of The Red Shoes, where she performed as a principal dancer. She achieved widespread recognition for her role as Alex Owens in the 1998 production of A New York Nightmare (also known as The Red Shoes), earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical.
