Charles Silmon is an American track and field sprinter who specialized in the 100-meter and 200-meter distances. Born on July 4, 1991, he competed at the collegiate level for Texas Christian University (TCU), where he became a multiple-time All-American.
In 2013, Silmon achieved significant professional and collegiate success. He won the 100-meter title at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a wind-aided time of 9.89 seconds. During the same season, he recorded a legal personal best of 9.98 seconds in the 100 meters at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where he finished third to qualify for the World Championships.
Representing the United States at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, Silmon competed in the individual 100-meter event and was a member of the men's 4x100-meter relay team. He earned a silver medal as part of the relay team that finished second to Jamaica. Silmon’s professional career included appearances in various Diamond League meetings and national-level competitions before his transition away from elite-level sprinting.
