Chaklala

Chaklala is a locality within Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It is best known for housing the Chaklala Airbase, which is a major airbase of the Pakistan Air Force. The airbase also contains a civilian airport, known as Islamabad International Airport (old) which primarily handled domestic flights and special flights after the opening of the new Islamabad International Airport.

The area also includes residential areas, commercial establishments, and educational institutions. Chaklala is strategically important due to its proximity to Islamabad and its role in military and civilian aviation. The airbase is sometimes used for official state visits and important government functions. The old airport continues to see some usage, especially related to military and governmental transport.
