Chad Smith (born June 11, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher. A right-handed thrower, he has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Miami Marlins and the Colorado Rockies.
Born in Springfield, Illinois, Smith played college baseball at the University of Central Arkansas for the Bears. He was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 13th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.
Smith began his professional career within the Marlins' minor league system, ascending through various levels of their affiliates. He made his Major League Baseball debut with the Miami Marlins on May 30, 2022. Following his tenure with the Marlins, he went on to play for the Colorado Rockies. Primarily utilized as a relief pitcher, Smith is known for his fastball. He has continued to play professionally, including being part of the Oakland Athletics organization as of the 2024 season.
