Cedric Jackson

Early Life and College Career

Born in Washington, D.C., Jackson attended St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Connecticut. He played college basketball for the Cleveland State Vikings from 2005 to 2009. During his senior season in 2008-09, he averaged 10.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game, leading the Vikings to an upset victory over Wake Forest in the NCAA Tournament before losing to Arizona. He was named to the Horizon League All-Defensive Team.

Professional Career

NBA Briefs and D-League

After going undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft, Jackson joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2009 NBA Summer League. He signed with the Cavaliers in September 2009 and made his NBA debut, playing five games before being waived. He then had stints with the Erie BayHawks and Idaho Stampede in the NBA Development League (now G League). He later signed 10-day contracts with the San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards during the 2009-10 season, playing a total of 14 NBA games across three teams.

International Career

Jackson spent several years playing in various international leagues around the world, showcasing his talents across Europe, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.

=Europe and Asia

= He played for clubs such as Hapoel Gilboa Galil (Israel), BC Budivelnyk (Ukraine), and JSF Nanterre (France), among others. He also had a brief stint in China with the Beijing Ducks.

=NBL Dominance (New Zealand Breakers)

= Jackson found his greatest success and notoriety during his tenure with the New Zealand Breakers in the NBL.

  • 2012-13 Season: He joined the Breakers and immediately made an impact, leading them to an NBL championship. He was awarded the Gaze Medal (NBL Most Valuable Player) and the NBL Grand Final MVP. He was also named to the All-NBL First Team.
  • 2014-15 Season: After a season playing in Slovenia and Russia, Jackson returned to the Breakers. He once again led them to an NBL championship, earning his second NBL Grand Final MVP award and a spot on the All-NBL First Team.

He later played for other NBL teams, including the Melbourne United and the Illawarra Hawks, before finishing his NBL career.

Later Career

After his time in the NBL, Jackson continued to play professionally in various leagues, including the Philippines, France, and Canada, before retiring from professional play.
