The Castle of Almansa (Spanish: Castillo de Almansa) is a historic fortified complex situated on a hill overlooking the town of Almansa in the province of Albacete, Castilla‑La Mancha, Spain.
History
The origins of the castle date to the late 11th century, when it likely began as a modest defensive tower or small alcazaba serving as a frontier outpost during the period of Christian‑Muslim frontier conflicts in the Iberian Peninsula.
