Carmen Lundy (born March 22, 1954) is an American jazz singer, songwriter, arranger, and record producer. She is recognized for her extensive vocal range, improvisational skills, and contributions to contemporary jazz repertoire.

Carmen Lundy was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She began singing in her family's church choir at an early age and later studied at the Detroit Institute of Musical Arts. Lundy pursued formal training in voice and piano, which laid the foundation for her later work as a composer and arranger.
Career
1970s–1980s
Lundy started her professional career performing in Detroit clubs and performing as a vocalist with local jazz ensembles. In 1978 she moved to New York City, where she joined the band of saxophonist Gary Bartz and appeared as a featured vocalist on several recordings.
1990s
In 1990 Lundy released her debut album as a leader, Good Enough, on her own label, Afrasia Records. The record showcased her original compositions and earned critical praise for its blend of bebop, gospel, and R&B influences. Throughout the decade she released additional albums, including _Dreaming'' (1995) and Jazz Is a Spirit (1997), further establishing her reputation as a prolific songwriter.

Lundy continued to produce independent releases, such as A Beautiful Friendship (2006) and Come Home (2010). In 2015 she released Changes, a project that highlighted her abilities as an arranger and featured collaborations with noted jazz musicians. Her 2021 album, Jazz for the Soul, reached the Billboard Jazz Albums chart and reaffirmed her status in contemporary jazz.
