Canova is an unincorporated community in Prince William County, Virginia, United States. The community is located on Canova Drive, a former section of State Route 234 (Dumfries Road), approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of Hoadly Road and about nine miles south of Manassas.
Geography
Canova is situated in Northern Virginia at coordinates 38°40′37″N 77°26′31″W. The elevation is approximately 358 feet (109 m). The community lies within the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT).
History and Description
The community consisted of a church, multiple housing areas, a country store, and a gas station. However, after State Route 234 (Dumfries Road) was realigned and widened in 2005, the new road bypassed the town, leading to the closure of the store and gas station. Today, Canova remains a small residential area with its church and surrounding homes.
