Can Zam (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈkan ˈzam]) is a Barcelona Metro station located in the municipality of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, in the northern part of the metropolitan area of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The station is situated at the intersection of Avinguda Francesc Macià and Carrer Balmes (or Carrer de Girona, per Catalan sources). It is served by line L9 Nord and is the northern terminus of that line.
The station was inaugurated on 13 December 2009 as part of the first section of line 9 to open, running between Can Zam and Can Peixauet, both within Santa Coloma de Gramenet. The line is operated by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).
The station is built 18 meters below ground using the "between diaphragm walls" (entre pantalles) construction method, which is distinct from the shaft-based construction used for most other L9 stations. It consists of two levels: an upper mezzanine level containing the station hall, ticket machines, and fare gates, and a lower platform level with two tracks and a single central island platform 101 meters in length. As is standard across L9, the platform is equipped with platform screen doors due to the line's automatic (driverless) train operation. The station is fully accessible for persons with reduced mobility, featuring elevators, escalators, and fixed stairs.
Beyond the station lies the Can Zam depot and workshop complex, covering approximately 13,000 m², which houses seven tracks for train stabling and maintenance for the series 9000 automatic trains.
