History

Caiazzo station opened on 27 September 1969 as part of the inaugural section of Line 2, running between Cascina Gobba and Caiazzo. On 27 April 1970, the line was extended by one station to Centrale.

Services

The station is served by Line 2 of the Milan Metro. The preceding station is Centrale (towards Assago or Abbiategrasso) and the following station is Loreto (towards Cologno Nord or Gessate).

Connections

Piazza Caiazzo also serves as a hub for surface public transport, including tram and bus services operated by ATM, as well as trolleybus route 92.

Accessibility

The station features two side platforms in a single tunnel configuration. It has been noted that the station lacks elevators or stairlifts, which may present accessibility challenges.
