CICI-TV is a defunct Canadian television station licensed to Sudbury, Ontario. It operated as a CTV affiliate from 1971 to 2001.
The station was originally owned by Cambrian Broadcasting, a consortium of local businessmen, and began broadcasting on November 1, 1971. It became known for its local news coverage and community involvement. Over the years, CICI-TV also produced various local programs, including talk shows, children's programming, and entertainment specials.
In 1990, Cambrian Broadcasting was acquired by Baton Broadcasting. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions in the late 1990s, Baton became part of CTV Inc., which was later acquired by Bell Globemedia (now Bell Media).
In 2001, as part of a restructuring of CTV's owned-and-operated stations, CICI-TV was converted to a rebroadcaster of flagship station CFTO-TV in Toronto. This meant that CICI-TV no longer produced local programming and primarily aired network content from CFTO. The CICI-TV call sign was subsequently discontinued. The physical transmitter remained in operation to serve viewers in the Sudbury area, but the station effectively ceased to exist as an independent entity.
